Every two years, the Maru-a-Pula Marimba Band delights American families with the unique sounds of the African marimba.
The Band is comprised of 11 students traveling with three staff members, including the Principal.
They arrive on April 15th on this cultural tour of sharing music and exchanging ideas and experiences with
schools and colleges on the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. including World School, Taft School,
Deerfield Academy, Milton Jazz Academy, and Roxbury Latin. The tour finishes at Harvard.
Every dollar raised through the 2016 U. S. marimba concerts goes to the Maru-a-Pula Orphan Scholarship Fund. ...more...
